Mrs. Willie White "Granny" Carrigan, 87, of China Grove Road, China Grove, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at Prospect Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Mooresville. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the home of Leisa Fisher, 1320 Pine Ridge Road, China Grove. Born October 29, 1921 in Taylorsville, she was the daughter of the late George Washington White and Lula Bumgardner White. She was one of 13 children and was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Mrs. Carrigan formerly worked with Cannon Mills. In addition to her brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Clay" Carrigan; a daughter, Frances Smith; granddaughter, Kelly McCarter; and a great-grandson, Gregg A. Seaford, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Seaford of China Grove; three grandchildren, Gregg Seaford and wife Michelle, Leisa Fisher and husband Scott, Kevin Smith and wife Lonnie; and seven great-grandchildren.
