Willie Hunsucker Hartis

Mrs. Willie Hunsucker Hartis, 78, of 2207 Woodlawn Street, Kannapolis, died April 20, 2008, at Transitional Health Services. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence. Born March 27, 1930 in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Vinnerd D. Hunsucker and Lelia Beaty Hunsucker. A retired waitress, Willie worked for many years at Zayre's, Rose's and Eckerd Drugs. She was a member of Genesis Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carol Hartis; and a grandson, Jason Cecil Clarke. Survivors include her husband, Daniel S. "Dee" Hartis; daughter, Sharon Hartis Clarke and husband, Cecil, of Cameron; brother, Dwight D. Hunsucker of St. Petersburg, FL; grandson, Shannon D. Clarke of Cameron; three grandchildren, Whitley A. Clarke, Sierra D. Clarke and Devin D. Clarke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
