Willie Mae Mcginnis

Mrs. Willie Mae Grooms McGinnis, 96, of 1301 Birch Street, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will be at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. McGinnis was born May 27, 1908, in Statesboro, GA. She was a daughter of the late Winfield Grooms and Minnie Mincey Grooms. She was a homemaker and representative for Avon Cosmetics for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. McGinnis and a daughter, Bobbie McGinnis Haltom. Mrs. McGinnis is survived by a daughter, Melody McGinnis and spouse, William Whitaker, of Kannapolis; and a granddaughter, Cherie Ward of Kannapolis.
