Mrs. Zelle Hall Woodard, 89, of 1007 McLain Road, Kannapolis, died Monday, October 17, 2005, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at Second Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Brant Piper will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born January 6, 1916, in Wilkes County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Hall and Myrtie Shepherd Hall. She had lived in this area most of her life and retired several years ago from the washcloth department of Cannon Mills, Plant One. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Funderburk Woodard, who died March 11, 1987; a daughter, Betty Woodard Watson; a sister, Nell Wyatt; five brothers, Fred Hall, Clate Hall, Tolbert Hall, Tam Hall and Hoby Hall; a granddaughter, Linda Kay Woodard; and two great-grandchildren, Linda Kay Baker and Randal Alan Eddings, Jr. Survivors include a son, Jerry Wayne Woodard and wife, Norma, of Kannapolis; three sisters, Faye Brown, Virginia Brown and Mary Brown, all of North Wilkesboro; a brother, Robert Hall, Jr. of Boone; seven grandchildren, Wanda Pierce of Rock Hill, SC, Marsha Vansant and Randal Alan Eddings, both of Concord, Lisa Cheek of Sanford, LaDonna Stainback of Kannapolis, James Ray Eddings, Jr. and Robert Kevin Eddings, both of China Grove; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
