Maxine Ola Lambert Moon McConnell Mintz

October 22, 1928 - November 29, 2021

Maxine, of Iron Station, NC, and formerly of Kannapolis, NC, passed on Monday, November 29, 2021. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joel Collette will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The service will be live streamed at https://www.ladysfuneralhome.com/live. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Maxine was born on October 22, 1928, in Mooresville, to Jesse and Vannie Link Lambert. She grew up in Kannapolis and graduated third in her class at J.W. Cannon High School. Maxine was a charter member of Parkwood Baptist Church in Concord and she later attended church at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alexis, NC. She had a career as a secretary and bookkeeper for Ben Propst Construction in Concord. She served on the Cabarrus Memorial Hospital Board from 1986 to 1995. Also, she was a charter member at The Speedway Club at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Maxine is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Mintz of the home; son, Randi Moon, and wife, Pamela of Coolidge, Georgia; granddaughter, Amy Moon Hallman and husband Lee of Huntersville; grandson, Andrew Moon of Flowood, Mississippi; great-grandson, Colby Hallman of Huntersville; sister, Laval Robinson of Salisbury; and sister, Geraldine Hudson of Kannapolis. Maxine is preceded in death by husband, James H. Moon; husband, Hugh E. McConnell; son, James H. “Bo” Moon, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Pam Moon; and brother, Sherlie Lambert. The family would like to thank the staff at Ranson Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care, at Olde Knox Commons, and with Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte for their care. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in Maxine’s name to Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Drive NW, Concord, NC 28027 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte Region, PO Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247.
