Melvin Clarence Rinehardt

April 29, 1936 - April 24, 2022

Melvin Clarence Rinehardt, 85, passed away at home on Sunday, April 24, 2022. A private service will be held. Melvin was born in Cabarrus County on April 29, 1936, a son of the late Guy David Rinehardt and late Clidybell Little Rinehardt. He attended The Cline School and Mt Pleasant High School. Melvin was a veteran of the Army National Guard of North Carolina and Reserve of the Army. He retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon after 40 years where he was a production supervisor in Concord, Kannapolis and Salisbury. He loved watching most sports on television, particularly NASCAR. He was a former competitive softball player and recreational golfer. He enjoyed gardening and repairing anything with an engine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Daniel “JD” Rinehardt and Howard “Junior” Rinehardt. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Harris Rinehardt of the home; son, Tim Rinehardt of Charlotte; sister, Frances Mullis and husband Jim of Concord; brother, Wayne Rinehardt and wife Barbara of West Columbia, SC; sister-in-laws, Sue Rinehardt and Pattie Haynes, both of Concord; and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. A special thanks is given to his caregiver, Cha Hodge.
