Ada Gaddy Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Ada Bell Gaddy Smith, 84 of 210 West 21st Street, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at her home. Â Â Â
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2005, at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church with the Rev Douglas Smith and the Rev. Steve Beam officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service Friday.
March 11, 1921 in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Washington Gaddy and Addie Mae Hall Gaddy. She retired from the sewing room of Cannon Mills Plant One in 1982 and was a member of St. Paul Wesleyan Church, Gold Hill.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Roland Smith; a daughter, Mary L. Lomax Deaton of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Rex R. St. John, Michael Scott St. John, Trina St. John Szekely and Shelly St. John Szekely; seven great-grandchildren, Justin Beaver, Amber Page, Chris St. John, B.J. St. John, Nick St. John, Alec Szekely and Craig Szekely; and three great-great grandchildren, Kenzie Beaver, Hayden Page and Blake Page.
