Aline Horton Thomas' Obituary
Mrs. Aline Horton Thomas, 85, of Camp Julia Road, Kannapolis, and formerly of Mt. Carmel, TN, died Thursday, January 5, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 320 Grandview Ave., Church Hill, TN. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at Church Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Johnson Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN.
Born October 20, 1920, in Hillsville, VA, she was a daughter of the late Lester Horton and Blanche Alderman Horton. She was a charter member of West Ridge Presbyterian Church in Mt. Carmel, TN. She moved to Kannapolis in 1995 and was active in the Sunshine Group at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. She previously worked for Kresses Department Store and retired from K-Mart in Kingsport, TN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ennis Thomas, Jr., who died July 16, 1990; a daughter, Nancy Ruth Thomas; three brothers, Robert Horton, Owen Horton and Clarence Horton; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Mann.
Survivors include a daughter, Bettie Thomas Bean and husband, Ben, of Kannapolis; a sister, Violet Mann of Mt. Carmel, TN; one brother, Bill Horton of Mt. Carmel, TN; two granddaughters, Belinda Bean Campbell and husband, Leonard, and Barbara Bean Seagraves and husband, Scotty, both of Concord; a great-grandson, Caleb Alexander Campbell; four sisters-in-law, Margaret Horton, Sue Horton, Georgia Horton and Nell Horton; and several nieces and nephews.
