Alma Rosebell Mesimer's Obituary
Mrs. Alma Rosebell Smith Mesimer, 102, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Terry Doyle Mesimer Sr.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Central Baptist Church. Rev. Curtis Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 pm Saturday prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Mesimer was born on August 16, 1912 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Caleb Smith and Maggie Faggart Smith.
She was a Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great-Great grandmother, sister, wife and a child of God. She was someone that would listen to your problems and pray for you to find the right answer. She was someone that had no mean thoughts and would fuss at you for having them. She was a peace-maker and wound healer. She gave her time and love freely and asked nothing in return. Through all the hard times in her life, she had one man to stand beside her for 72 years. Today she rejoins him to stand by her Savior at Calvary and sing the praises of her God. There is a verse in 1st Corinthians that says “May all your work be done with love”. I truly believe that hers was and for that reason her reward will be great.
When the sun rose every day you could find her in the kitchen fixing food for anyone that showed up for breakfast. Sitting there with a smile on her face and her Bible in her hand reading you the stories of Jesus and His Word. She never met a stranger because she asked their name and they became friends. She shared her life with so many and more that never knew her. They all benefited from her gifts. She never said no to a real need from anyone and no one left her side without a smile on their face. She was Peepee to all that knew her and Alma to the man that loved her. At the gates of Heaven today, He’s sitting on a bench with outstretched arms welcoming her to her new home and back to her place by his side.
