Annie Lillian Wilhite's Obituary
Mrs. Annie Lillian Cavin Wilhite, 82, formerly of the Enochville Community, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013, at her daughter’s home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chuck Overcash will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 pm Wednesday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wilhite was born on May 31, 1931 in the Atwell Township in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Banks Young Cavin and Bessie Mae Cagle Cavin. She worked at Linn Mills in Landis as a Winder. Annie was a member of Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years. Annie visited nursing centers playing the piano and singing for the resident’s enjoyment. She collected baby dolls and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her main pastime was reading her Bible. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Wilton Cornelius Wilhite; two sisters, Edith Adams and Dorothy Bowen; two brothers, Ballard Cavin and Arthur Young Cavin; and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilhite is survived by five children, Bobby Wilhite and wife Angela, Ray Wilhite and wife Sandy and Dean Wilhite and wife Shari, all of Kannapolis, Patty Baker and husband James “Bud” of China Grove and Randy Wilhite and wife Micky of Rockwell; sister, Eleanor Cavin Smith of Baltimore, MD; four brothers, James Cavin and Gene Cavin, both of Kannapolis, Wade Cavin and wife Willie of Salisbury and Charles Cavin of Texas; special and loving friend, Bobby Lear, Sr. of China Grove; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
