Archie Eugene Overcash's Obituary
Mr. Archie Eugene Overcash, 88, a resident of Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center in Albemarle and formerly of Kannapolis, died Friday, March 10, 2006, at Stanly Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. The Rev. Don Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of his son, Ralph Overcash, 402 Eddleman Road, Kannapolis and his daughter, Joyce Walmer, 3170 River Road, Richfield.
Born April 10, 1917, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Erskine Overcash and Effie Yost Overcash. He retired from Linn Corriher Mills in Landis after 45 years of employment. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Ann Overcash; and three grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Joyce Walmer and husband, Jerry, of Richfield; a son, Ralph E. Overcash and wife, Brenda, of Kannapolis; two sisters, Pauline Bunton and Bertie Pennington, both of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
