Bertha Burgess Frye's Obituary
Mrs. Bertha Burgess Frye, a resident of Burlington, NC since 1991, and formerly of Kimball Street in Kannapolis, died Monday, January 13, 2003, at White Oak Manor in Burlington.
A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2003, at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. The Rev. James Lockley, pastor of Alamance Lutheran Church in Alamance, NC will officiate.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born April 18, 1905, in Alexander County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Norman Columbus Burgess and the late Essie Mae Little Burgess. Mrs. Frye retired several years ago from the Sewing Room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. She was a charter member of Bethany Lutheran Church, now a part of New Hope Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Seymour Frye, who died in 1954; four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Joanne F. Sink of Burlington; two grandchildren, Martha Sink Slaughter and her husband, Donald, of Burlington and Sarah Sink Iwaniec and her husband, Shane, of Burlington; four great-grandchildren, Daniel Slaughter, Elizabeth Slaughter, Syan Iwaniec and Serra Jo Iwaniec, all of Burlington.
