Betty Sue Childers' Obituary
Mrs. Betty Sue Billings Childers, 87, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robert Howard and Rev. Steve Leigh will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.
Mrs. Childers was born May 26, 1929 in Kannapolis, NC. She was a daughter of the late William Marcus Billings and Nannie Donahue Billings. She worked for Cannon Mills as an inspector and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Childers loved spending time at her second home at Holden Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, Robert Childers.
Mrs. Childers is survived by two daughters, Brenda Stribling of Kannapolis and Judy Voyles of China Grove; son, Robert Childers and wife Juanita of Kannapolis; 11 grandchildren, Deana Honeycutt and husband Rodney, Chris Stribling, Susan Hamlett and husband Ralph, Bryan Childers and wife Tanya, Jeff Stribling and wife Jennifer, Robin Smith and husband Rodney, Joseph Voyles and wife Angela, Penny Manus and husband Jason, Angela Carillo and husband Daniel, Amy Goodman and husband Chuck, and Matthew Stribling; and 22 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Lakewood Baptist Church, 806 Kluttz Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
