Betty Davis' Obituary
Betty Eldridge Davis, born April 6, 1933 departed this temporary life on earth December 26, 2015 for her eternal life in heaven. She was born in Douglas, Ga. She graduated Boston High School in 1950. She spent her days on earth doing what she loved best; caring for and loving her family. Her life could best be characterized as one of unconditional love. Whether it was a sick animal or a person down on their luck, she would never turn her back on someone in need. Betty made friends with everyone she came in contact with in this life no matter what their status or circumstance. She had a knack for saying just what others needed to hear and for making them feel special. It only took once to know she cared about you. She simply saw the best in others. Betty was a generous, selfless woman who considered the welfare of others above her own. The trials and tribulations of this life brought out the best in Betty and NEVER overcame the joy and happiness she had for living. She taught her children what it meant to love, to respect others and their property, to honor their elders and the value of working hard. If she received a gift…whether great or small; she would look at it carefully, touch it, smell it, taste it, put it on and honestly make you feel like it was the finest gift she had ever been given. We never tired of watching her during these moments!
She was preceded in death by parents John Marcus Eldridge Sr., and Fannie Louise Wynne Eldridge, husband Arthur Pitts Davis Jr., her son Arthur Pitts Davis III., and beloved son-in-law, Carl Abby Todd Sr.
She is survived by her brother, John Eldridge Jr. of Boston, Ga.
