Jane, Johnny and family, Am so sad to learn of Betty's death. She was such a dear friend to me, almost a second MOM. I will truly miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take care and will be seeing you all soon. Love brennie
Betty, or Miss Abernathy as I will always think of her, was my first grade teacher at Jackson Park. I believe even at my advanced age she would still call me by name today. Her daughter, Susan, and I were friends. She was the first of the few educators to give me encouragement and instill a love of learning. I believe God put her at the beginning of my life to give me hope in the future. She was a beautiful lady inside and out and I give thanks that I was lucky enough to have had her in my life.
