Brian Christopher Drye's Obituary
Brian Christopher Drye, 41, went home to be with his Savior and Lord Thursday, October 10, 2013, after a long battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, October 14, 2013, at Franklin Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Grigg will officiate. Interment will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5:00 pm Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Brian was born on August 9, 1972 in Salisbury. He was the son of Alvin Drye, Jr. and Barbara Sellers Drye of Gold Hill. Brian was a US Navy veteran having served on the USS George Washington Air Craft Carrier. He was employed as a Walgreens Manager. Brian was a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by grandfather, Woodrow Sellers; and great grandparents, Herbert A. Drye and Eva Trexler Drye.
In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his wife, Susan Pickett Drye; three children, Ryne, Reagan and Brooklyn Drye, all of the home; grandparents, Alvin Drye, Sr. and Louise Drye of Gold Hill; grandmother, Brenda Sellers of Rockwell; father and mother-in-law, Tom and Karen Pickett of Salisbury; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Farrah Pickett and daughters Caroline and Megan of Raleigh; grandmother-in-law, Lillian Wehrle of Salisbury; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
The family requests memorials be made to Franklin Heights Baptist Church, Youth or Children’s Program, 526 Wright Avenue, Kannapolis, NC 28083 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
