Carnelle Elizabeth Hancock's Obituary
Mrs. Carnelle Elizabeth Hancock Hancock, 98, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Genesis Eldercare in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 22, 2018, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Keith Kenneberg will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service. At other times the family will be located at the home of a grandson, Chris Hancock, 506 Commonwealth Drive, Kannapolis, NC.
Mrs. Hancock was born July 27, 1919 in Chesterfield, SC. She was a daughter of the late Andrew Hancock and Mary Sellers Hancock. She has been a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church since 1952 and retired from plant #4 of Cannon Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, James Wesley Hancock; a daughter, Helen Bowman; and five brothers, Andrew Hancock, Carl Hancock, John Hancock, Jack Hancock and Hardy Hancock.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by a son, Jimmy Hancock and wife Vera; four grandchildren, Sherry Cummings and husband Donny, Chris Hancock and wife Cheri, Angie Fulford and husband Ernie and Pam Hamby and husband Scott; ten great grandchildren and nine great-great grand children.
