Mrs. Howard was an amazing teacher at KMS! She taught us history and I mostly remember fondly that she encouraged me to join ROTC. She made a huge impact to me and I later joined the US Navy. All because she cared enough to reach her students!
My deepest sympathy and love to the Howard Family at this time. Mrs. Howard has left a living legacy in your lives and through the many other lives she touched, including mine. I will never forget walking into a Sunday School class in Williamsburg, Virginia and introducing myself as a resident of Monroe, NC. When asked if that was near Wingate and answering in the affirmative, a young lady asked if I knew Carol Howard. She and Mrs. Howard had been in music and eduction classes at Wingate and she spoke glowingly of their friendship. I will always remember her love of reading, too, but mostly how much she loved her family. Real life is now beginning for her. She is our future and we will meet on that shore to share eternity in great glory!
