Carrie Ann Funderburk Barker's Obituary
Ms. Carrie Ann Funderburk Barker, 84, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017, at Genesis HealthCare in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Eric Eanes will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Thursday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Ms. Barker was born August 18, 1932 in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Ben Funderburk and Alma Presson Funderburk. She worked at Landis Elementary School, where she was the school's first assistant teacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Funderburk.
Ms. Barker is survived by a daughter, Marcie Petty and husband Donald of Salisbury; son, Mike Barker and wife Janet of Concord; sister, Perline Hager of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren, Benjamin Barker, John Petty and Matthew Petty.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Genesis Nursing Home of Salisbury; her loving cousin, Dale Smith; her special niece, Beneen Sellers and family; and her dear, sweet, caring angel, Robin Hoover.
