Charles Wesley Haley, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Charles Wesley Haley, Jr., 67, of Carolina Beach and formerly of Kannapolis, died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, June 4, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jim Herchenhahn will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born February 9, 1938, in Kannapolis, he was a son of the late Charles Wesley Haley, Sr. and Minnie Starnes Haley. Mr. Haley attended Winecoff High School. He worked for Cannon Mills as a supervisor on the dock in the Bleachery Department of Plant No. 1 in Kannapolis until his retirement in 1986. Soon after his retirement, he and his wife, Irma, moved to Carolina Beach. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Wilimington. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard and was formerly stationed in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Irma Lunsford Haley; a son, Bobby Haley of Banner Elk; a sister, Betty Cauble of Concord; a brother, Ray Thomas Haley and his wife, Glenda, of Asheville; and a grandson, Wesley Haley of Banner Elk.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association, 4701 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, NC 28403.
