Cheryl Lee Walker Castor's Obituary
Mrs. Cheryl Lee Walker Castor, 65, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
A mass of christian burial is scheduled for 11:00 am, Saturday, February 4, 2012, at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery in Concord. Father Alvaro Riquelme, C.Ss.R. will officiate.
A memorial mass will be held at 3:30 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kannapolis. Father Alvaro Riquelme, C.Ss.R. will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the home of a daughter Wendy Brandon, 585 Westwood Drive, Kannapolis, NC.
Mrs. Castor was born May 21, 1946 in Bay St. Louis, MS. She was a daughter of the late Armar Walker and Edna Saucier Walker.
She worked as a medical secretary for Ardsley Medical Group for over twenty years where she was known for her caring and compassionate voice. Patients and medical staff would confide in her often. Mrs. Castor was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was involved with the Ladies Guild. She was also a Lector and Eucharistic minister and sang in the choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Walker.
Mrs. Castor is survived by her loving husband, Philip "Phil" Castor; daughters, Wendy Brandon of Kannapolis and Carrie Jordan and her husband, Michael of Concord; sons, Jason Castor and his wife, Sherri of Omaha, NE and Jonathan Castor of Kannapolis; sister, Candace Cortese of Deer Park, IL; brothers, Armar Walker of Redding, CA and Dean Walker of Schaumburg, IL; grandchildren, Alexander Brandon, Jacob Brandon, Madison Castor, Megan Castor and Quenten Jordan.
