Clara Rose Hafford Akers' Obituary
Mrs. Clara Rose Hafford Akers, 68, of 316 S. Main Street, died Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Brian Center in Salisbury.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Mrs. Akers was born April 8, 1940 in St. Francis, Maine. She was a daughter of the late Vincent Hafford, Sr. and Elsie Brownell Hafford. She formerly worked in the Dyeing Room at Cannon Mills Plant 1 in Kannapolis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Allen Starnes; a sister, Viola Walker; and two brothers, Vincent Hafford, Jr. and Dana Hafford.
Mrs. Akers is survived by her husband, Andy J. Akers, Sr.; daughter, Donna Wright and husband, Joey, of Kannapolis; two sons, Alvin Starnes of Smithfield, NC and Avery Starnes of Salisbury; three step-children, Catherine Greene of Cary, NC, Andy Akers, Jr. of Pawley's Island, SC and Matt Akers of Cincinnati, OH; six sisters, Ann Lovely and husband, Ebb, Mary West, Mona O'Neal, Christina York, Blondie Beaulieu and Ella Leighton, all of Ft. Fairfield, Maine; three grandchildren, Stacy Morris, Christie Anthony, and Allen Wright; four great grandchildren, Bryson, Faith, Chase and Haley; five step-grandchildren, Hudson, Ava, Jack, Sam and Katie.
