Clifford Rayvon Russell, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Clifford "Russ" Rayvon Russell, Sr., 82, of 740 Joe Lentz Road, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 22, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. Rev. Don Lyerly will officiate. Burial with military graveside rites will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
Mr. Russell was born December 9, 1927 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Raymond William Russell and Mary Belle Honeycutt Russell. He was a veteran of the US Navy and the US Coast Guard having 23 years of combined service. He later went to work for Cannon Mills in Kannapolis as a machinist and would retire from Fieldcrest-Cannon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Rayvon Russell, Jr.; and two brothers, R.L. Russell and Ralph Edward Russell.
Mr. Russell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Hazel Fullam Russell; son, Mike Russell and wife, Jan of Kennesaw, GA; daughter, Lisa R. Moore and husband, John of Huntersville; four grandchildren, Haley Russell, Holden Russell, Brooke Moore and Amy Russell; two great grandchildren, Tristan Sober and Cheyenne Ray Sober.
