Clyde Lincoln Poteat's Obituary
Mr. Clyde Lincoln Poteat, 75, of Laura Avenue, Kannapolis, died Saturday, October 28, 2006, at his home.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born February 12, 1931, in Rowan County, Mr. Poteat was the son of the late Guy Alonzo Poteat and Mary Weddington Poteat. He was retired from the US Navy with 22 years of service, having been in the Deep Freeze Operations in Antarctica and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He also was the owner and operator of Kannapolis Engine Service until his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his sons, Pat Poteat and wife, Judy, Mark Poteat and wife, Karen, Paul Matthew Poteat and wife, Crystal, and John Poteat, all of Kannapolis; brothers, Hayden Poteat of Mt. Ulla and Everett Poteat of Vallejo, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
