Cora Belle Hatley Barnhardt's Obituary
Mrs. Cora Belle Hatley Barnhardt, 97, of 5201 Power Line Street, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, November 23, 2008.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Mike Hillard will officiate. Interment will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at her residence.
Mrs. Barnhardt was born June 26, 1911 in Stanly County. She was a daughter of the late Channie Greene Hatley and Lillie Almond Hatley. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Victor Barnhardt in May 1986; two sons, Bobby Lee Hatley and Brady Barnhardt; four sisters, Carrie Linker, Cannie Mae Lee, Cloria Elsie Lyles, and Ruby Foster; five brothers, Calvin, Charlie, Clester, Cletus and Raymond Hatley.
Mrs. Barnhardt is survived by a daughter, Lillie Hilliard of Salisbury; a son, Bob Barnhardt of Kannapolis; two step-daughters, Shelbie Jean Parrish and JoAnne Pennington, both of Kannapolis; one brother, Coy Hatley of Stanly County; six grandchildren, Jennifer and Phillip Hilliard, Matthew and Mark Hatley, Karen Fournier and Becky Lewis; six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care Center for their care. The family would also like to thank High Rock Community Church for their prayers, love and support.
