David Hawkins' Obituary
Mr. David Hawkins, 76, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Tucker Hospice House.
A graveside service is scheduled for 3:30 pm Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Kirk Tutterow will officiate. Interment will follow.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Hawkins was born November 12, 1943 in Maysville, GA. He was a son of the late James David Hawkins and Maudie White Hawkins Williamson. He retired from First Charter Bank as VP, Regional Manager. He was on The Executive Board of Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce for five years and was a member of the Kannapolis Charter Commission and Interim City Council. One of his fondest memories was being chairman of the Dale Earnhardt Appreciation Day, October 5, 1993.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Thornburg Hawkins; two brothers, Connie Williamson and wife Brenda of China Grove and Winston Hawkins and wife Shirley of Blacksburg, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
