David Milton Ireland's Obituary
Mr. David "Dave" Milton Ireland, 88, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at Taylor Glen in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Concord, NC. Rev. Dr. Deborah Frye and Rev. Dr. Scott Ireland will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 am Saturday at Calvary Lutheran Church.
Mr. Ireland was born May 10, 1935 in New Milford, CT. He was a son of the late Dr. Richard Milton Ireland and Helen Marie Smith Ireland. Mr. Ireland was a Veteran of the US Army 3rd Infantry Division. He was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church as long as his health permitted. Mr. Ireland went to Canterbury Prep School in New Milford, CT and Graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in History, Political Science, and Pre-Medical. He owned and operated and was President of Ireland Sales. Mr. Ireland was an avid golfer, enjoyed body surfing. He also in his later years enjoyed a friendly game of poker with his friends at Taylor Glen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Kendall Ireland; second wife, Susanne "Sue" Silliman Ireland; and two brothers, Richard and Bill Ireland.
Mr. Ireland is survived by sister, Sharon Ireland Simpson and husband Steve of Woodbine, GA; three daughters, Leigh Ireland Bebber and husband Tony of Little Mountain, SC, Karen Ireland Harris and husband John of Denver, NC, and Heidi Milbredt of Huntersville; two sons, Rev. Dr. Scott Ireland and wife Patti of Monroe and Kevin Milbredt and wife Cassie of Davidson; six grandchildren, Jason Bebber and wife Megan, Mark Bebber and wife Laura, Heather Richardson and husband Derek, Sean Ireland and wife Emily, Elle Womble, and Gunner Womble; and six great grandchildren.
