David Mckenzie Reavis' Obituary
David McKenzie Reavis, 78, of 1501 Longbow Drive, Kannapolis, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Don Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born July 15, 1927, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Notley Parks Reavis and Mary Gray Reavis. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1984 as a district manager with Liberty Life Insurance Company and held the Charter Life Underwriter designation. He was a member of Shadybrook Baptist Church and the Gideons International, where he was active in the Kannapolis Camp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Etta Reavis Reep; and two brothers, Hubert Reavis and Bob Reavis.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline "Polly" Yon Reavis; five sons, David E. "Butch" Reavis of Kannapolis, Douglas Reavis of Rockwell, Thomas "Tommy" Reavis of the home, Gary Reavis of Kannapolis and Gene Reavis of Concord; two brothers, Brady Reavis and Jimmy Reavis, both of Salisbury; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
