Donald Eugene Auten's Obituary
Mr. Donald Eugene Auten, 55, of 511 Cook Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2006, at Solid Rock Worship Center. The Rev. Raymond Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born December 13, 1950, in Cabarrus County, he was a son of Melvin E. Auten and Rena Sims Auten of Kannapolis. A veteran of the US Army, he was a member of Solid Rock Worship Center. He worked for more than 30 years with Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills and was currently employed with Keystone Automotives.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Tennia Furr Auten; a daughter, Stephanie Auten Thomas and husband, Jimmy, of Kannapolis; a son, Stephen E. Auten of Kannapolis; two step children, Rebecca Crabtree and husband, Robby, and Kenneth Andrew Clark and wife, Casey, both of Concord; two sisters, Betty Auten Clay of Kannapolis and Edith Auten Sipes and husband, Larry, of Salisbury; two brothers, Paul David Auten and wife, Linda, of Kannapolis and Clyde W. Auten and wife, Jamie, of Concord; and seven grandchildren.
