Donald Dewey Bowlin's Obituary
Mr. Donald Dewey Bowlin, 88, went to live with his Lord and Savior, Monday, October 24, 2011, at Carolinas Specialty Hospital in Charlotte.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ronnie Cooper and Rev. Randy Tucker will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Bowlin was born March 7, 1923 in McGrady, NC. He was a son of the late Lydle Adam Bowlin and Elsie Victoria Perry Bowlin. He worked at Cannon Mills plant #4 as a warper in the weave room until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Elsie Bowlin Ellsworth; brothers, Ted "Budd", Rudd and Fred Bowlin.
Mr. Bowlin is survived by his wife Lelia Lyles Bowlin; daughters, Geraldine Dotson and husband, Jack of Hallisville, TX and Donna Bunton of Rockwell; sons, Dewey Bowlin and wife, Marcia of Kannapolis and Aron Bowlin and wife, Collene of Pinehurst; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
