Donald Matthew Davis' Obituary
Mr. Donald Matthew "Don" Davis, 74, of 2212 Englewood Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, after many years of illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2007, at Jackson Park United Methodist Church. The Rev. Chuck Halipilias will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Friday at the church. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born September 22, 1933 in Rowan County, Don was the son of the late William Matthew Davis and Sadie Freeman Davis. He was a supervisor with Cannon Mills and later worked with Troxler Equipment Company in Concord. He attended Cannon High School and Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. He loved operating Ham radios. He was a member of Cannon Memorial Masonic Lodge No. 626. and Jackson Park United Methodist Church, where he was past president and treasurer of his Sunday school class. Mr. Davis was also past president of the Ostomy Group.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cauble Davis of the home; two daughters, Donna Harkey and husband, Barry, of Concord; Rhonda Davis of Greensboro; sister, Linda Treece of Concord; four grandchildren, , Lauren Fraley and husband, Clint, Lesleigh White and husband, John, Jeffrey Porter and Matthew Porter; two great-grandchildren, Timber Fraley and Tate White; and a special friend, Trenessa Dammann.
