Dorcus Hartis Browning's Obituary
Mrs. Dorcas Hartis Browning, 82, of 606 Jackson Street, Kannapolis, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Avante at Concord Nursing Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 Noon Monday, May 20, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Dr. Greg Pierce, pastor of Lane Street Baptist Church, will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 PM Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born February 3, 1920, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late D. S. Hartis and the late Viola Baker Hartis. Mrs. Browning retired after 45 years of service from the sewing room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. She was a member of Lane Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis L. Browning; a son, Curtis Browning, Jr. and his wife, Marlene, of Landis; a sister, Lametta Christie of Indian Trail; a brother, D. S. Hartis of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Todd Browning and Lori Wilson; and five great-grandchildren.
