Doris Mauldin Plowman's Obituary
Doris Mauldin Plowman, 98 of Kannapolis, born November 22, 1907, made her home at Universal Health Care, Concord, for the past four years. On March 22, 2006 she took her long awaited journey home. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family who loved and admired her, those whom she treasured most. Words cannot express our love for her, what she brought to our lives, nor the depth of the chasm that her death brings to us.
Doris loved her church and her pastor. She was a Christian and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Kannapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Fannie Biles Mauldin; her sister, Bea Davis of Kannapolis; four brothers, Robert "Bob" Mauldin of Houston, Texas, Glen Mauldin of Greenwood, South Carolina, Bill Mauldin of Charlotte and Monroe Mauldin of Kannapolis.
She is survived by her sister Lorene "Pug" Coggins and a number of nieces and nephews and their children.
Her service will be conducted Friday, March 24, 2006, 3:30pm at Lady's Funeral Home, where her family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 3:15pm prior to the service. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
A special thanks to loving caregiver Brenda Ramsey, for her daily visits and endless support, and to Dale Miller for his weekly visits. Doris looked forward to seeing his smiling face.
