Doris Hilda Walter's Obituary
Mrs. Doris Boyd Walter, 85, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Best of Care Assisted Living in Kannapolis.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, May 1, 2014, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Rev. Alan Thompson and Rev. David Raiford will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery,
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 pm Thursday at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church prior to the service.
Mrs. Walter was born on September 11, 1928 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Robert Boyd and Annie Elizabeth Hunsucker Boyd. She retired as battery filler from Cannon Mills Plant #10. She was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walter enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping and fishing at the beach. The most important thing to her was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelia W. Fleeman; two sisters, Nona Boyd and Ruby Roberts; and brother, Robert J. Boyd.
Mrs. Walter is survived by her husband, Clarence J. Walter; son, Jerry Wayne Walter of Midland; four grandchildren, Mark Walter, Alan Thompson and wife Myra, Melissa Blovsky and husband Jim and Karen Courtney and husband Mark; and eight great grandchildren, Taylor and Kelsie Blovsky, Dylan and Brandyn Courtney, Angel Thompson, Jessie, Joshua and Luke Walter.
