Mrs. Dorothy Mae Coleman Blackwelder, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Services will be private.
She was born December 17, 1925 to the late William and Cora Coleman.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, Willie Maxwell, Ruth Austin, Faye Tucker, Margie Coley, Mary Smith and Virginia Beaver.
Mrs. Blackwelder is survived by her husband of 66 years, George L. Blackwelder; daughters, Judy McManus and her husband, Bob of Charlotte and Patti Bost and her husband, Neal of Mt. Pleasant; son, Jerry Blackwelder and his wife, Jill of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Amy Smith and her husband, Eric of Fayetteville, Nathan Blackwelder and his wife, Tammy of Kannapolis, Ryan White and his wife, Shana of Norfolk, VA and Elizabeth Bost of Mt. Pleasant; six great grandchildren, Hannah and Garrett Smith, Marynda and Gabriel Blackwelder and Lili and Ella White; sister, Martha Earnhardt; brothers Pete Coleman, Bob Coleman, Bill Coleman and W. L. Coleman.
