Dorothy Goodman Overcash's Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy Goodman Overcash, 77, of 314 Cottage Drive, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at Liberty Commons in Salisbury.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chuck Halipilias will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born April 3, 1928, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe Bryant Goodman and Mamie E. Pless Goodman. She was a member of Jackson Park United Methodist Church and retired in 1989 from the administrative offices of Cannon Mills Plant One, where she was employed for 47 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard I. "Bill" Overcash, who died November 23, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara O. Trott and husband, Bob, of Durham; a son, Jeff S. Overcash and wife, Lisa, of Salisbury; two sisters, Ruby Winecoff of China Grove and Vienna Condrey of Linwood; a brother, Larry Goodman of Linwood; and six grandchildren.
