Dovie Fisher Bentley's Obituary
Mrs. Dovie Fisher Bentley, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, 84, of 4560 152 East, Rockwell died Friday, April 14, 2006, at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at Lane Street Church of God. The Rev Wade Easom and the Rev. Sam Crisp will officiate. Interment will follow in Brookhill Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. At other times they will be at the residence.
Born August 13, 1921, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. James E. Fisher and Ella Fesperman Fisher. She retired in 1984 from Cannon Mills. She was a member of Lane Street Church of God where she was a Sunday School Teacher for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Fisher and Edward Fisher.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James Roscoe Bentley; one daughter, Shirley B. Correll and husband Sonny of Salisbury; three sons, Randy E. Bentley and wife Robbie and Harry W. Bentley and wife Myra, both of Rockwell, Larry J. Bentley and wife Mary Sue of Kannapolis; three sisters, Ruby Baker of Kannapolis, Elsie Foutz and Bessie Stirewalt, both of China Grove; one brother, George Fisher, Jr. of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Lisa Bentley, Eric and Anne Correll, Kelly and Jeff Cole, Tara and David Casper and Harold Bentley; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb Casper, MacKenzie Casper, Matthew Correll, Margaret Correll, Hannah Cole, Abigail Cole and Phoebe Cole.
