Dwight Franklin Webster's Obituary
Mr. Dwight Franklin Webster, 92, a resident of the Brian Center and formerly of First Assembly Living Center and from Jackson Park Road, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008.
A graveside service for Mr. Webster will be conducted at the VA National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2009. The Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate.
Mr. Webster was born in Chesterfield, SC, on March 19, 1916, one of fifteen children of the late, Augustus "Gus" Webster and Mamie Myrtle Sellers Webster. His career was in the clothing industry. He served a gunner in the U.S. Army Cavalry from 1938 until 1941 and returned to service with the U.S. Marines as a sharpshooter during World War II. He was a member of Lane Street Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded by death by his sisters, Irene W. Sutton, Ruth W. Jacobs, Mabelle W. McFarland, Mexie W. Lewis, Grace W. Taylor, Gladys W. Knotts, Doris W. Hilton, Mary Agnes W. Caulder, Johnnie W. Trent and brothers, Homer, Woodrow, Hubert, Boyd and Howard Webster.
The family may be contacted at the home of a niece, June Caulder Worley of New London, NC.
