Eddie Crowell Gurley's Obituary
Mr. Eddie Crowell Gurley, 68, of 103 West "G" Street, Kannapolis, died Saturday, August 11, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
Funeral services for Mr. Gurley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Midway United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dave Cash will officiate. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007 at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mr. Gurley was born in Cabarrus County on April 1, 1939, a son of Nell Lipe Tedder and the late, Sylvester Crowell Gurley. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church, Cannon Memorial Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Mason, member of Cabarrus Shrine Club, the Scottish Rite and the Oasis Temple. A graduate of A.L. Brown High School in 1957, he was employed as a supervisor in the sewing room of Cannon Mills where he worked for over 40 years.
Survivors in addition to his mother, Nell Tedder of Concord, include his wife Delanda D. Gurley; a son, Phillip Gurley and his wife Stella, of Houston Texas; a daughter, Tracey Alexander and her husband, Kermit, of Concord; two step-daughters, Leslie Byrd and husband, Mike, of Concord and Karen Hinson of Syracuse, N.Y., nine grandchildren, Kerry, Tyler, Ashley, Dayne, Jordan, Travis, Zachary, Lauren and Alexa.
