Edna Morgan Baskins' Obituary
Mrs. Edna Wilma Morgan Baskins, 106, a resident of Avante at Concord, who formerly made her home with her daughter prior to entering the care facility, and formerly of 910 Elm Street, Kannapolis, departed this life, Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Sam Crisp will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, they will be at the home of her daughter, Dottie Green, 3419 Davidson Highway, Concord.
Born March 26, 1903 in Stanly County, Mrs. Baskins was the daughter of the late Doc F. Morgan and Lou Alice Kiser Morgan. She was a member of Kannapolis Church of God. She retired several years ago from the No. 2 Spinning Room of Fieldcrest-Cannon Mills, where she was employed for 46 years. She enjoyed gardening and canning.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Baskins; a daughter, Inez Phillips; one sister, Emma Morgan; and two brothers, Ralph Morgan and Ernest Morgan.
Survivors include a daughter, Dottie Green and husband, Ron, of Concord; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
