Edna Lena Bryant's Obituary
Ms. Edna Lena Wenzel Bryant, 63, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2007, at her daughter's home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Smith will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Born April 5, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Frank Wenzel and Mildred Christensen Wenzel. She was employed in food service with ARAMARK at Philip Morris and worked part-time at the Waffle House.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Keith Curry and Mike LeClerc.
Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Wilkinson and husband, Steve, of Mt. Pleasant; son, Richard "Dutch" VanCamp III and wife, Cindy, of Kannapolis; four sisters, Mildred Bruder and husband, George, of Bradford, Vermont, Eleanor Whitson of Kannapolis, Frances Bell and husband, Steve, of Maplewood, NJ, Ruth Curry of Concord; and a brother, Frank Wenzel, Jr. of Kannapolis. The loving grandmother of four wonderful grandchildren, Richard "Richie" VanCamp IV, Stephanie Wilkinson, Brenden Wilkinson and Savannah VanCamp, she is also survived by a lifelong friend, Carmen Bost; special friend, Virginia Metzcar; the father of her children, Richard VanCamp, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff at CMC-NorthEast and the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, for the excellent care that was given.
