Edna Earle Overcash's Obituary
Mrs. Edna Earle Brines Overcash, 82, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at Caremoor Retirement Center in Kannapolis.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 25, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ellen Campbell Gardner will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethpage Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Overcash was born January 9, 1934 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late John Brines and Fannie Brines. She owned and operated Overcash Monogramming. She was a member of Bethpage Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing softball for many years as a shortstop. Edna was a very loving and caring mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Overcash, Sr; and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Overcash is survived by two sons, Maurice Lee “Buddy” Overcash, Jr. and wife Cathy of Kannapolis, and John Michael Overcash; two grandchildren, Travis Lee Overcash and wife Emily, W. L. “Cody” Overcash; step-grandson, James Michael Pearman; and great-grandchildren. Briana, Olivia, Bradyn, Ansleigh Overcash and Skooter Pearman.
Memorials may be made to Bethpage Presbyterian Church, 6020 Mooresville Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
The family would like to thank the staff of Caremoor Retirement Center for the care and compassion that was provided to Mrs. Overcash and her family.
