Emma Estelle Cook's Obituary
Mrs. Emma Johnson Cook, 87, formerly of Pittsboro, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church in Pittsboro. Rev. Ray Gooch will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:00 pm Sunday in the Browns Chapel United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Cook was born on November 6, 1926 in Pittsboro. She was a daughter of the late Jesse Johnson and Emma Lou Thomas Johnson. She was a member of Browns Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Arlie Cook; two sisters, Lois Harris and Lucille Glosson; and two brothers, J.T. Johnson and Truman Johnson.
Mrs. Cook is survived by two children, Connie Christie and husband Gary of Concord and Mike Cook of Bahama; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
