Eric Norris Goode's Obituary
Mr. Eric Norris Goode, 84, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017, at CHS-NorthEast in Concord.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 22, 2017, at First Baptist Church. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. Entombment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Friday at First Baptist Church.
Mr. Goode was born October 23, 1932 in Forest City, NC. He was a son of the late Robert "Bob" Lee Goode and Addie Vandyke Goode. He retired from Equifax Services where he was an field representative for more than 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was very active. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He also volunteered for more than 13 years in the Food Pantry at Cooperative Christian Ministry in Concord. He enjoyed golf, working in his yard, reading Western novels, watching classic movies, playing cards and fishing. He was also known for his wit and great sense of humor and he never met a stranger.
He was always active in the lives of his grandchildren in everything they did. One of his greatest passions was spending time with his grandchildren and guiding them through Life's journey. He always enjoyed challenging and getting challenged by his grandchildren in family games.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Geneva Dills and Alafair Smart; and four brothers, Earnest Lee "Pep" Goode, Albert "P.A" Goode, Lawrence "Nick" Goode and Rockfort Goode.
Mr. Goode is survived by his wife, Rejane Joyce Goode; daughter, Julie Eberle of Kannapolis; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Nicole Eberle, Christopher William Eberle and Meredith Jane Eberle.
