Esther Deese Cox's Obituary
Mrs. Esther Deese Cox, 93, a resident of Best of Care and formerly of Brantley Road, Kannapolis, died Monday, February 14, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jim Yow and the Rev. Sarah Weaver will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of a daughter, Sandra Chapman, 1851 Wetherburn Drive, Kannapolis.
Born June 3, 1911, in Moore County, she was a daughter of the late George and Annie Reynolds, and the last of a family of 15 children . She retired after 40 years of service from the washcloth department of Cannon Mills, Pant One. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Exodus Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat James of Kannapolis and Sandra Chapman and her husband, Charles, of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Amelia Goodnight and her husband Doug, Alan Chapman, Brian Chapman and his wife Allison, Carla Fulton and her husband Brad, and David Chapman and his wife Cheryl; and three great-grandchildren, Will Chapman, and James and McKinley Goodnight.
Memorials may be sent to Trinity United Methodist Church, Nursery Fund, 416 East 1st Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
