Eva Hastings Reid's Obituary
Mrs. Eva Graham Hastings Reid, 85, a resident of Mallard Ridge Assisted Living, Clemmons, and formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday, February 23, 2009, at the care facility.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate.
Born May 19, 1923 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Graham and Leeola H. Graham. She retired several years ago as the supervisor of the Pink Pinafore Gift Shop at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, now CMC-NorthEast, Concord. She was a member of the former Royal Oaks Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Madison "Matt" Caldwell Hastings, who died August 23, 1966.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Reid; son Gary Hastings and wife, Susan, of Clemmons; two stepdaughters, Brenda Scott of Huntersville and Linda Beatty of Denver; two stepsons, Neil Reid of Denver and Donnie Reid of Charlotte; sister, June Graham of Butner; brother, Howard Graham of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Gary Madison Hastings II of Concord, Shannon White of Winston Salem; and four great-grandchildren, Madison Blake Hastings, Caroline Hastings, Madison Dori White and Brendan White.
