Evelene Marie Fritz Woodard's Obituary
Ms. Evelene Marie Fritz Woodard, 87, went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 9, 2023, at The Landings of Cabarrus in Kannapolis.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Demps Overcash Jr. will officiate. A graveside service will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Ms. Woodard was born April 2, 1936, in Kannapolis. She was a daughter of the late Eugene James Fritz and Mary Jane Mullis Fritz, and the sister to four siblings who welcomed her to heaven. Evelene was a very active member in the Kannapolis Church of God and was a member of the Kannapolis Pilot Club for many years. She formerly worked for Cannon Mills and Tuscarora Yarns as a plant secretary.
Evelene is survived by daughter, Beige Woodard Terry and husband Wes of Mint Hill; and two granddaughters, Lauren Marie Tapp and Kailey Elizabeth Tapp.
For those who knew her, know she was a beautiful lady who never left home without looking her best. She loved God and her family, and they were reminded daily. God’s love was shown through her to everyone she came across. Her strength was amazing until the very end. She will be missed deeply by her family. However, they know she is in the arms of Jesus in her heavenly home and will always be their guardian angel looking down on them.
