Evelyn Wensil's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Troutman Wensi1, 86, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Rev. David Raiford will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Lady’s Funeral Home prior to the service.
Mrs. Wensil was born July 13, 1927 in San Diego, CA. She was a daughter of the late Charlie Fitzgerald Troutman and Neva Marie Ellis Troutman. She retired from Cannon Mills where she worked as a hemmer. Mrs. Wensil was a faithful member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church where she served in the nursery for over 50 years and was given the mother of the year award. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed cross stitching, puzzles and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Sam” Samuel Wensil; three sisters, Katie, Earnibell and Marie; and three brothers, Charlie, Bob and George.
Mrs. Wensil is survived by two daughters, Janice McClure and husband Terry of Milledgeville, GA and Myra Parnell of Kannapolis; son, Ronnie Wensil and wife Janice of Kannapolis; two sisters, Elaine Wensil of Kannapolis and Esther Patterson of China Grove; five grandchildren, Angie Walker, Alison Dixon, Anna Parnell, Brian Wensil and Jason McClure; five great grandchildren, Taylor Dixon, Austin Walker, Linley Wensil, Brandon Walker, and Kayleigh Walker; two great-great grandchildren, Emma Walker and Jace Walker.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, 6001 Old Salisbury-Concord Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
