Everett Elton Heintz's Obituary
Mr. Everett Elton “Eb” Heintz, 91, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017, at Brian Center in Concord.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Howard Tyas will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.
Mr. Heintz was born July 28, 1925 in Mt. Pleasant, NC. He was a son of the late Zeb Vance Heintz and Margaret Bost Heintz and remained a lifelong resident of Cabarrus County. In 1928, he relocated to Kannapolis where he graduated from J.W. Cannon High School in 1943. He went on to serve in the US Navy during World War II where he served in the South Pacific. He worked in various bake shops in the area spending most of his career as a supervisor at Bitsy Bakery in Kannapolis. Having a green thumb, he loved working in his yard and flower garden. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis.
Following the war he returned to Kannapolis to marry Peggy Penninger Heintz to whom he was married for 52 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Penninger Heintz; an infant daughter, Roseanna Heintz; three brothers, Norman “Gabe” Heintz, Zeb Gene Heintz and Max Heinz; and four sisters, Mae Sherrill, Arlene Heintz, Frances Richardson and Mildred Gaddy.
Everett is survived by his son, Kim E. Heintz and wife Anita Drye Heintz of Concord; two, grandchildren Alana Ivey and Derek Heintz and wife Lynda; and five great grandchildren Makayla and Jakob Ivey and Alexis and Steven Hieneman and Brianna Coontz.
