Florence Catherine Kimball's Obituary
Florence Catherine Kimball passed away to a better life in heaven on February 15, 2009. She was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on June 24, 1920 where she lived until 2005.
She remained a devoted Catholic throughout her life.
Florence has reunited with her parents, Everett Alonzo and Elizabeth Thersa Kimball. She has also joined her siblings, Dorothy Mary Dwyer, Alice Elizabeth Kimball, Grace Ann Wychick and Dennis Everett Kimball.
She is survived by a sister, Margaret T. Knapp of Binghamton, NY and a brother, Everett Joseph Kimball and his wife Kitty of Port Charlotte. FL. Other survivors include a son Thomas and wife Suzi of Kannapolis, granddaughters, Carmen Patton and husband David of Kannapolis, Joni Flowe and husband Steve and their son Riley of China Grove. Florence was a loving aunt to fifteen nieces and nephews.
In 1986 she retired from International Business Machines after 46 years of service.
The family would like to thank all those who helped care for Florence this past year, with a special thank you to Sue Hamilton who has loved and cared for her since 2005. Thank you is also extended to the staff of Tucker Hospice House who provided great care and comfort during Florence's last days.
The family request memorials to be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County at 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Visitation for Florence will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home with services to follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. The Rev. Matthew Smith will officiate. The remains of Florence will be returned to Binghamton, NY at a later date.
The family will make headquarters at the home.
